Fareed's Auto Service Blog: Tips, Advice and More

Hello and welcome! My name is Fareed, and this blog is about car repair. I plan to write about smash repair, body work, painting and other aspects of the industry. I also hope to include a few posts that will help you assess whether or not something is wrong with your car. I have worked on my own car for years, and recently, I've been embraced as the neighbourhood mechanic -- all my friends come to me for help. I'm not a professional mechanic, but I feel confident sharing this info with you as I've been working on cars for years. I am happy you found my blog and hope that you enjoy reading!

Broken Down Car? How to Bring the Expertise to You Instead

Blog

Have you noticed how many breakdown trucks there are on Australian roads these days? This has much to do with the ever-increasing population and the number of vehicles used, but it's also partly to do with the fact that a breakdown will never occur at or near to a mechanic's workshop. That would be too good to be true, of course, but in the meantime, stranded motorists need a way of moving their stricken vehicle to the expert. However, this tradition may be about to change as you may be able to take advantage of a mobile mechanic, who will bring his or her expertise directly to you instead.

Shifting the Focus

It's not surprising that a large number of breakdowns occur outside the family home. After all, many people use their cars for commuting purposes, and the vehicle will spend most of its time standing still in one of two locations. While the situation could be a little more complex at work, the good news is that you have room outside your house and may also have a garage that can be pressed into service by a travelling mechanic. As you cannot start the vehicle to take it to some remote facility and don't want to deal with the hassle of a breakdown truck, this is the perfect solution.

Ready for Work

Mobile mechanics are as experienced and qualified as their compatriots "back at base." They understand that they may face an additional challenge when trying to fix your car in the field but will come prepared and won't leave any footprint when they're finished. They will have assessed the situation when they discussed the problem with you on the phone and will have a fairly good idea what has caused the issue before they arrive. Consequently, they will typically bring the necessary parts with them so that they can get you back and running ASAP.

What If…

Of course, bigger issues may materialise, and it may not be possible to fix the issue outside your home. In this case, the mechanic will arrange to transport your vehicle back to the permanent facility, but at least it was worth trying this option first.

Next Time

Key the number of a mobile mechanic service into your phone and call them first, instead of the usual breakdown service. You may end up cutting out the middleman in the process, saving money and helping to change this part of motoring culture at the same time.
